Caroline is a dispute resolution expert with over seven years of experience in advising and representing clients in legal practice handling complex legal disputes. Her main areas of expertise are corporate and commercial disputes, employment and labour relations disputes, public procurement matters, and constitutional and judicial review. She has successfully represented large public and private corporations before various dispute resolution forums from tribunals to the appellate courts.

Caroline also has experience in advising corporate and individual clients on commercial contracts, leases, and real estate matters.

Caroline is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Commissioner for Oaths. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL. B) from the University of Nairobi and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.

EXPERIENCE

  • Successfully represented Pwani University in several Public Procurement Disputes worth over KES 50 million.
  • Part of the team that acted for Kenyatta University in a dispute worth over KES 5 billion relating to a Commercial Contract successfully defending it from the trial court to the Court of Appeal.
  • Acted for a high-profile individual in recovery of a high-value property worth over KES 100 million.
  • Acted for Kenyatta University in the successful defence of its procurement by the Teachers Service Commission as an Institution to offer Teachers Development Programmes before the Employment and Labour Relations Court.
  • Successfully defended large organizations against claims arising from employee termination disputes before the Employment and Labour Relations Court, saving them millions in damages and costs.
  • Provided various organizations with risk assessment and advisory on internal employee termination procedures and policies.
  • Advised and represented a creditor of Nakumatt Holdings (in liquidation) in the recovery of a debt of over KES 6 million.
  • Part of the team that acted for Pwani University in the recovery of a large high value property worth over KES 5 billion from illegal occupation by squatters in a dispute that ended up at the Court of Appeal.
  • Acted for various clients in the sale and purchase of real estate and commercial leases.
  • Advised and represented Kenyatta University in negotiations for the exit and surrender from a long-term commercial lease.
