Nelson has a wealth of experience in corporate services covering aspects such as corporate secretarial work, company law advisory, corporate governance, compliance and capital markets regulation. In addition, he has acquired significant litigation experience where he has worked on a wide spectrum of commercial disputes before various courts and tribunals, including assisting in matters before the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
Being an ardent reader and writer, Nelson has authored numerous articles, including in the Business Daily, on a wide array of legal topics. He has a bias towards corporate law and governance and most recently wrote on the Capital Markets Authority’s proposal to introduce special purpose acquisition vehicles (SPACs) in Kenya. He has also published on private equity, employment law, regulatory compliance, pension funds and asset management.
Nelson Karumba is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Kenyatta University School of Law. He is currently pursuing his qualifications as a Company Secretary.
